The Golden Knights’ season comes to an end with a hard-fought loss against Edmonton.

The Vegas Golden Knights are facing a tough challenge as they find themselves down 3-1 in their playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers. Historically, the Golden Knights have lost both of their best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series in which they trailed 3-1. They have a record of 3-5 when facing elimination but are 3-2 at home. Tonight’s challenge will be even greater as they will be without their captain, Mark Stone, who is sidelined with an upper-body injury. The last time the Golden Knights lost a clinching playoff game at T-Mobile Arena was back in 2018 against the Washington Capitals, who lifted the Stanley Cup in the fortress.

In their previous game, the Golden Knights suffered a tough 3-0 loss in Edmonton, with Adam Henrique scoring two goals and Stuart Skinner stopping all 23 of the Golden Knights’ shots. The Oilers have demonstrated depth in their scoring and are not solely relying on their two top players, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. The Oilers are no strangers to comebacks in playoff series; they nearly pulled off a 3-0 comeback last year in the Stanley Cup against the Florida Panthers but ultimately lost in Game 7. So the Oilers understand that a win for Vegas tonight, can easily give them momentum and possibly spark a rare 3-1 series comeback.
