The Golden Knights are aiming to break a two-game losing streak after suffering defeats in their last two games against the Buffalo Sabers and the Detroit Red Wings. With three days of rest behind them, the Golden Knights return to T-Mobile Arena to face the Boston Bruins, who are also looking to end a losing streak after dropping their last three games. As they enter this matchup, the Knights hold first place in the Pacific Division with 86 points, just one point ahead of the Edmonton Oilers. Tonight’s game features a St. Patrick’s Day theme in the fortress, and one player appears to have struck upon some gold.

The standout player tonight was Pavel Dorofeyev, who recorded his second career hat trick, bringing his season total to 30 goals and making him the leading scorer for the Knights. He surpassed Tomas Hertl, who came into the game with 27 goals. Dorofeyev’s previous career high was 13 goals last season. Here are all three of his goals.
Adin Hill was aiming for his fifth shutout of the season, but Morgan Geekie prevented it with a goal at 2:11 left in the third period. Hill didn’t face many challenges during the game, but successfully stopped18 out of 19 shots from the Bruins.
In addition to Dorofeyev’s hat trick, William Karlsson made his return to the lineup after missing 20 games due to a lower-body injury. He contributed to the team’s effort by assisting Brett Howden on his 19th goal of the season. Ivan Barbashev capped off the scoring by netting his 20th goal this season, set up by a beautiful play from Jack Eichel. Eichel picked up two assists in the game, increasing his team-leading point total to 82, which ranks eighth in the NHL. Elevating the Knights to a 5-1 victory and sweep the two game series against the Bruins.
After the game, Brandon Saad, Noah Hanifin, and William Karlsson discussed Dorofeyev’s impressive three-goal performance and highlighted how much he has contributed to the Golden Knights this season.
Bruce Cassidy also weighed in on Pavel and talked about how much he has grown and produced since training camp.
The Golden Knights will return to T-Mobile Arena this Saturday, aiming to avenge their recent 3-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
