Las Vegas Aces General Manager Natalie Williams announced today that the team has waived rookie forward/guard Elizabeth Balogun.
A 2023 Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Preseason and Midseason Top-10 watch list candidate, Balogun played in all 33 games with 27 starts for the Blue Devils this season. Shooting at a 51.2-percent clip from the field and 46.4 percent from distance, Balogun finished second on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg) while leading the team in rebounding (5.2 rpg).
Named the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) for the week of January 4, the Lagos, Nigeria product scored in double figures 17 times, and recorded three double-doubles.
Balogun also played collegiate at Louisville and Georgia Tech, and was a member of the Nigerian Olympic Team which competed in the 2020 Tokyo Games.
