The Golden Knights (9-3-2) are back at T-Mobile Arena after a quick two-game road trip up north. Tonight, they will face the Carolina Hurricanes (10-3-0) and their high-powered offense. The Golden Knights went 1-1 on the road, achieving their first road win of the season against the Edmonton Oilers, but losing to the Seattle Kraken 4-3 in overtime last Friday. Both the Hurricanes and the Knights enter this game with 20 points in the standings. This evening, the fortress will celebrate Veterans Day with Military Appreciation Night, honoring current and former veterans who have served in various branches of the United States Armed Forces.

The Golden Knights yet again will be without their captain, Mark Stone, for the second consecutive game due to a lower body injury; he is currently listed as day-to-day. Stone’s defensive skills will be missed against the speedy Carolina Hurricanes offense. Additionally, Nicolas Hague will also be absent from the lineup missing his sixth game of the season.

The Carolina Hurricanes come into Las Vegas ranked second in the league, boasting the second-best goal differential at +20. However, the Hurricanes eight-game winning streak was snapped by the Colorado Avalanche, who defeated them 6-4 this past Saturday.

Tonight marks the return of former Golden Knight and original misfit, William Carrier, to the fortress for the first time since leaving the Knights this past offseason, to sign a six-year, $12 million deal with the Hurricanes. Carrier was selected in the 2017 expansion draft and played 372 games for the Knights, scoring 53 goals and recording 99 points. He played a significant role in the Knights’ 2023 Stanley Cup run, contributing six points and providing a strong physical presence in the 2023 playoffs.

The Golden Knights honored William Carrier with a tribute video during the first TV intermission.

With two high powered offenses colliding, only one of them put up the points here tonight. Here is the highlights and recap:
