The last two times the San Antonio Spurs had won the NBA Draft Lottery, they drafted a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. In 1988, the Spurs drafted David Robinson and in 1998 they drafted Tim Duncan. Now in 2023, the Spurs won a chance to draft another generational big man.
San Antonio won the NBA Draft Lottery and drafted French Big Man Victor Wembanyama. Wembanyama is listed at 7 foot 5 inches tall and is considered to be the most talented player ever to be eligible for the NBA Draft. He is currently averaging 21.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game for Metropolitans 92 in France’s top professional division.
Check out Wembanyama and the rest of the upcoming draft class this summer when the NBA’s Summer League returns to Las Vegas on July 7. The 10-day event will feature all 30 NBA teams and their newly drafted rookies. Games will be played at both Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV and Orleans Arena. Single-game tickets are on sale.
