The Golden Knights (11-4-2) and the Washington Capitals (11-4-1) are set to meet for the second time this season, but instead of playing in the nation’s capital, they’ll face off in the entertainment capital of the world in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena. Both teams come into this matchup winning there previous games; the Golden Knights recently defeated the Utah Hockey Club 4-2 in Salt Lake City, while the Capitals won against the Avalanche 5-2 in Colorado.

Earlier this season, the Capitals beat the Golden Knights 4-2. This game marked the first time former Knights goalie Logan Thompson faced his former team, where he made 24 saves on 26 shots to secure the victory. Thompson has been impressive for the Capitals this season, boasting a record of 7-0-1 and a .906 save percentage.

Thompson played three seasons with the Golden Knights before being traded to the Washington Capitals in June. Ahead of tonight’s game, Logan told the media, “It’s going to be a little different going into that rink as not a Golden Knight, but I’m excited. It’s going to be a fun atmosphere. I know that rink and those fans always bring it, so I’m excited for the game and we’ll see what happens.” (According to Sammi Silber from Yahoo Sports)

This year, the Golden Knights have already welcomed back two former players this season: Michael Amadio who plays for Ottawa and William Carrier who plays for Carolina. Tonight, it was an emotional welcome back for their former goaltender, here at T-Mobile Arena.
