Golden Knights tight checking defense shuts out Connor McDavid and the Oilers

The Golden Knights (15-7-3) are aiming to bounce back at T-Mobile Arena after suffering a crushing 6-0 defeat against the Utah Hockey Club last Saturday. Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers (13-9-2) are visiting in hopes of seeking redemption against the Knights after losing 4-2 to them in Edmonton earlier this month.

This highly anticipated game, nationally broadcast on ESPN, will feature two of the league’s superstars: Jack Eichel and Connor McDavid. Jack Eichel is projected to have a career-best season and currently ranks 4th in the league with 36 points. Although Connor McDavid missed some time earlier in the season due to a lower-body injury, he has still had a solid year, accumulating 31 points. His teammate, Leon Draisaitl, is currently second in the league in scoring with 17 goals, just one goal behind Sam Reinhart, who leads with 18.

After a rough defensive performance against the Utah Hockey Club, Bruce Cassidy wanted a better defensive showing from the Knights, and he certainly got that tonight.

Here is the highlights and recap of tonight’s game:
