Maxime Comtois and the Vegas Golden Knights have come to terms on a Professional Tryout Agreement, the team announced today.
Comtois, 24, was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and spent parts of five seasons with the club. In 210 games with Anaheim the forward posted 86 points (38 G, 48 A), even leading the Ducks with 16 goals, 17 assists, for 33 points in 55 contests in the COVID-shortened 2020-2021 regular season.
A Professional Tryout Agreement or contract (PTO) refers to a training camp opportunity that is extended from a club to an unsigned veteran or undrafted player.
Comtois, a native of Quebec, won gold with the Canadian team at the 2021 IIHF World Championship, and spent four seasons in the QMJHL with the Drummondville Voltigeurs (2018-19) and the Victoriaville Tigres (2015-18).
