Today, USAA and the Raiders hosted “USAA’s Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp” where local active duty service members from Creech and Nellis AFB military trained liked Raiders for a day at Allegiant Stadium.
During this once-in-a-lifetime experience on the Raiders off day, players and alumni including Dalton Wagner, Will Putnam, Adam Butler and Leo Gray joined military members to coach them through football drills, thank them for their service, play against them in Madden ’25 on kiosks inside the VIP hospitality suite courtesy of USAA’s Madden partnership, sign autographs and take pictures.
Boot Camp participants were split up into teams and had the chance compete in drills similar to those used by NFL coaches to evaluate NFL talent, including: the 40-yard dash, broad jump, three-cone shuttle, receiving gauntlet, and the QB arm challenge.
The team with the best cumulative score of the combined training drills were awarded with tickets to the Raiders Salute to Service game in November against the Broncos, where they will be recognized courtesy of USAA, Official Salute to Service Partner of the Las Vegas Raiders. With a tie between two teams, the score was settled in a field goal kicking competition to crown a Boot Camp winner.
“USAA’s Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp” represents the evolution of authentic military appreciation events that USAA and the Raiders have created to foster an understanding and appreciation for the local military community, bringing our military closer to a game they love. 2024 marks the third year that USAA and the Raiders have partnered to recognize our military through the Salute to Service platform.
