The UNLV men’s basketball program has received a signed commitment from Jacob Bannarbie to join the Runnin’ Rebels for the 2023-24 season, head coach Kevin Kruger announced Tuesday.
Bannarbie is a 6-foot-9-inch, 215-pound forward, who attended Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, he also attended Southern California Academy and resides in Encinitas, California.
“Jacob is a tough, physical, athletic forward that will compete on every possession,” Kruger said. “We look forward to having him join our program.”
A three-star prospect according to 247 Sports, he chose the Runnin’ Rebels over Washington State, Portland and San Francisco.
Playing for the Oakland Soldiers (AAU), he averaged 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in Nike EYBL competition this summer, while shooting 58.8% from the field.
Bannarbie joins Kalib Boone, Keylan Boone, Brooklyn Hicks, Jalen Hill, Dedan Thomas Jr., and Rob Whaley Jr. as the seven new student-athletes who have been added to the Runnin’ Rebel roster for the 2023-24 season.
