It’s often said there’s more to Zab Judah than what meets the eye. Well, the six-time world champion’s legacy was cemented this weekend with the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.

The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame dedicates this weekend to celebrating the legacy of boxers who’ve contributed to the sport’s history. This year, they inducted Zab Judah into the 2023 class, and the 2023 class was also celebrated at this year’s gala.

“When I first came in, I didn’t know what to think, I didn’t know what to expect. But being here now and talking to the fans, talking to friends and talking to my family, and getting all of the love from the fans and family, it makes you feel very appreciative,” Judah said.

For over two decades, Judah dominated the ring. As he looked back on his career, he said all of the fights had little special moments in his life.

“Every fight had its own obstacles, its own battles and its own tragedies. We just had to fight through it and make it happen,” Judah said.

Judah’s Secret To His Fighting Success

Boxing is as much a mental battle as it is physical. For Judah, his faith in God was the key to surviving in the sport.

Each tough opponent from fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. to Miguel Cotto taught him fundamentals, patience, discipline and other often-overlooked aspects of boxing.

“You really get hit hard. You gotta think to yourself, ‘Am I really made for this shi**’ or do I really want to go home right now,” Judah said. “Different fights, different occasions bring our different emotions in the person. In a 12-hour fight, you find out a lot about yourself.”

The Anthem of a Champion: Zab Judah on the Lyrics Inspired By His Grit

The exciting fighting style of Judah has inspired countless raps and rhymes. Judah said his favorite lyric is from G.Dep, who was also released from prison this year.

The lyric goes as follows, “Right jab like Zab Judah. Every member on my team is the shooter.”

After a dazzling career, Judah can finally enjoy the fruits of his labor. He said that he hopes to leave inspiration in the world of boxing.

“I just want people to know that no matter where you’re at in life if God gives you the gift, there’s nothing you can’t do,” he said. “I want people that have the gift and the light, let it shine.”
