The UNLV football team is set to kick off their season in Week 0 of the college football calendar, welcoming Idaho State from the Big Sky Conference. After spending 13 seasons as a college head coach in the SEC, this will be Dan Mullen’s first game coaching in the Mountain West and his first game back since leading Florida in 2021.
With only two starters returning to UNLV in the offseason and a complete overhaul of the coaching staff, it’s clear that the Rebels started off quite rusty, and their chemistry wasn’t clicking.
What initially appeared to be a potential blowout for UNLV turned into a back-and-forth battle throughout the afternoon.
