Raiders safety Tre’Von Moehrig is heading into his fourth NFL season this year. He has improved every year since the team drafted him with the 43rd overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In 2021, his rookie season, he had 55 tackles and one interception, with six passes defended. He was the top rated rookie DB in almost every category.
His second season in 2022 he had similar stats, but a slight slump. 55 Tackles, no interceptions and 5 passes defended, but was also playing through injury. He’s played in every game for the Raiders except two, both games he missed were in 2022. He still played in 15/17 games, but again, he was playing through injury for most of the year.
Last year, in 2023, he broke out and had a huge career year. Last season he had 83 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, and 8 passes defended.
Every single statistic was a career high in a big way. He also just recently turned only 25 too, so he’s still young with a lot of potential. If he can build on his success from 2023 in 2024, and have another massive season, both him and the Raiders will benefit greatly from it, for both now and the future, assuming they resign/extend him whenever the time comes to do so here soon.
“Pierce praised the safeties’ instant chemistry, which has been a key factor in their success since Epps joined the Raiders in 2023. He highlighted their exceptional communication, both on and off the field, as a crucial element in building trust.
As the last line of defense, this trust is vital, and according to Pierce, their bond has been evident in their seamless interactions during games, practices, and beyond. Their chemistry last season was a testament to the importance of teamwork, and Pierce’s comments suggest that their relationship continues to be a strength for the team.”
