Raiders General Manager Tom Telesco started his presser by paying his respects to the late, great reporters Christ Mortensen and John Clayton. But then, he noted that they have a plan to be aggressive in the draft to trade up if the player they really want is there, and they also have plans for if they can’t trade up and sit pat at pick 13 or even if they need to trade down. He did also note as long as they didn’t have to trade down “Too much” If trading down ended up being the decision.
Raiders General Manager Tom Telesco still has yet to rule anything off the table as far as trading up, trading back or keeping their No. 13 pick. He also said he’s looking for “Long-term fits”.
Will the Raiders trade for LSU QB Jayden Daniels?
So let’s see. What does that tell you? If they trade up, it’s likely only for LSU QB Jayden Daniels. Something we’ve known for months. They really want Jayden Daniels and see him as a day one starter.
But, if they stand pat at pick 13, It’s likely Washington QB Michael Penix Jr, or Oregon State T Taliese Fuaga. If it’s Fuaga, I expect the Raiders to double dip in the first round and trade back up and grab Michael Penix Jr around the 17-20 range. It could be a cornerback too, in which if that’s the case I believe it will be Alabama CB Terrion Arnold. Ultimately though, nobody knows anything for sure. But we will see soon enough, as the 2024 NFL Draft is now just a couple of days away.
