Kansas City Chiefs star tightend Travis Kelce wasn’t happy on Christmas day 2023. Last season, the Raiders beat the Chiefs in Kansas City on Christmas day 20-14. The score makes the game look much closer than it actually was. It was also his first Christmas with star singer Taylor Swift. Travis Kelce had a mediocre game with 5 catches for 44 yards and 0 touchdowns. The Chiefs at the time also looked like they could be in the process of destruction. However, the Raiders may have given them more fuel. The Raiders are still the last team to beat the Chiefs. After losing to the Raiders, Chiefs ended up winning six straight games, including a second consecutive super bowl.
Travis appeared on former NFL player Will Compton’s podcast “Bussin’ With The Boys” And went into detail about how the Raiders ruined Christmas for the Chiefs but ultimately gave them fuel to win every game after and go on to win the super bowl. He also respects new head coach Antonio Pierce and his style of bringing back the old school, mean and nasty mentality to the Raiders.
He goes on to say in the clip “We got our asses beat by the f***ing Raiders on Christmas, man. They ruined our Christmas. (Antonio) Pierce had those dudes ready to brawl right there on the field. I respect it 100% though, and I love that shit, but that Raiders game was definitely a turning point in our season, for sure.”
