“BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON,” the live robot-combat experience inspired by the popular TV show, announces the launch of the Proving Ground. During select “DESTRUCT-A-THON” shows, amateur robots will receive the opportunity to compete in a Proving Ground match for a potential spot in the BattleBots World Championship TV show.
Every Proving Ground match will include the same rules used in standard BattleBots fights, including 250-pound robots fighting in front of a live audience. Amateur bots will fight a qualifying match against each other or against professional bots testing out new innovations and weaponry inside the BattleBox Arena.
Select teams in Proving Ground matches may be chosen by the BattleBots selection committee for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete against professional teams on TV.

“BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON” is the live experience inspired by the drama, action and destruction of the TV series, condensed into an intense, fast-moving, 75-minute theater show.
