Aviators Shutout Space Cowboys 7-0

The Las Vegas Aviators went South to visit the Sugar Land Space Cowboys on Tuesday. The men blew the Space Cowboys away with a 7-0 shutout.

Las Vegas started strong with a two-run first inning. Trey Dombroski walked two batters, and Logan Davidson hit a line-drive double to bring them home. It wasn’t until the fifth inning that the Aviators got on the board again. Carlos Cortes hit a line drive to center field, scoring Zach Gelof and Nick Martini.

A new pitcher was no problem for the Aviators. Daniel Susac hit an RBI single to center field off of Misael Tamarez in the ninth inning. Darell Hernaiz and Brett Harris scored. Jayden Murray replaced Tamarez on the mound. With bases loaded, Cortes grounded into a force-out, and Alejo Lopez scored.

Overall, the Aviators had six hits in 31 at-bats. Sugar Land had three hits in 28 at-bats. Jack Perkins picked up the win on the mound for Las Vegas. He threw 5.0 innings, struck out seven, walked five and allowed one hit. This was his third win of the season.
