Estrada keeps winning picks up. Unanimous Decision over Yudica

Seniesa Estrada (25-0 9kos) took on Leonela Yudica (19-2-3 1ko) as she defended her minimumweight titles. Yudica gave Estrada a tougher-than-expected fight throughout the evening. The fight was closer than many expected and as the cards were read in unity (97-93) some questioned if it was closer than even that. At the end of the evening, Estrada continues her winning ways and looks to move forward with a shot at Undisputed.

Early on the pressure from Estrada banked her some early rounds. Yudica would land some good counters and be able to show her boxing skill but was a little behind. “Superbad,” said after the fight she may have fractured her finger on her right hand, and it could’ve been early as Yudica began to have success. The shots landed were solid shots that weren’t rocking Seniesa but were catching her.

Seniesa began early with the switching from orthodox to southpaw, which seemed to bother Yudica slightly and help give her a little bit of wiggle room. Estrada did show the effects of the fight with some facial bruising, but seemed to be a step ahead throughout, though the action was very competitive. As the final bell sounded Yudica let out a scream possibly believing she had pulled the victory out. The scorecards weren’t in her favor, but she gave a great account of herself.

During the card, Estrada’s number one rival in the division Yokasta Valle arrived and chatter began. Valle entered the ring while Estrada was speaking with Bernard Osuna. Estrada said she wants the fight, and Valle can just hand her the belts now. Valle responded by saying “We can fight in Costa Rica; I fill arenas, not theaters.” A fight between these two great ladies would continue a trend of the best fighting the best in Boxing.

Speaking with me after the fight Valle said if Estrada is hurt, she could wait to do the fight and she’ll have an interim fight in between. Estrada said she would get evaluated when she gets back and then start trying to get the fight done. She did say she wants to be undisputed in multiple divisions when it’s all said and done. Let’s hope we’re able to see the Valle fight in the last part of the year
