X Games debuts Special Olympics Unified BMX Race

Minneapolis- The 2019 X Games will be different this year, as they have added Special Olympics Unified BMX Racing to the competition.

The Unified BMX race will be the opening competition on August 1st to start the weekend of the X Games.  “Teams will be comprised of one professional action sports athlete, including X Games and Olympic medalists, and one Special Olympics action sports athlete for a total of ten, two-person teams. The teams will compete in a dual BMX Race, with X Games Aspen gold medalist Alex Ferreira confirmed to compete in the first-time event,” said a representative with the X Games organization.
