Las Vegas – The eagerly anticipated rematch between reigning WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder and former champ Tyson Fury is now officially set for February 22nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The news came as Premier Boxing Champions and Top Rank officially announced in joint statements on Friday. The rematch between the 34-year-old Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KOs) and the 31-year-old Fury will look to produce a clear-cut and decisive winner between the two combatants after they famously fought to a contentious draw last December at the Staples Center in downtown LA.
The two famously fought to a contentious draw in their first bout, a fight which featured Fury, the self-proclaimed Gypsy King fighting out of England box beautifully throughout, yet also, get dropped- hard- including a seemingly show-stopping savagely sharp salvo by Wilder in the 12th and final round, only to climb up off the deck each time.
The second installment of the wildly entertaining engagement between the 6’7″ Wilder, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and the 6’9″ Brit will be held at the iconic MGM Grand Garden Arena in Sin City and will be the featured attraction on a sure-to-be scintillating joint pay-per-view between ESPN/Top Rank and PBC and their broadcast partners FOX.
