This week’s CBS Sports Radio 1140-AM show focused on the 1970s Oakland Raiders and the beauty and madness of that decade for the silver and black.
Kristine Setting Clark, author of the Raiders book Cheating is Encouraged: A Hard-Nosed History of the 1970s, chronicles the merry band of madmen, misfits, and crazies that helped Oakland win two Super Bowls in four years. Clark tells us how the Immaculate Reception wasn’t a reception, and also tells us about the Raiders infamous “Wall of Shame” at training camp in Santa Rose during the free-spirited 70s. She also talks about how John Madden and Al Davis made the “perfect couple” when it came to building a winning football team.
