The Raiders won’t be leaving Oakland for the 2019 season after all. They are staying put at the Coliseum, which they’ve played at since 1995.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport the Raiders have reached an agreement with the Oakland Coliseum authorities to play the 2019 season at Oakland Alameda Coliseum. However, the agreement may also include a team option for the Raiders to stay for the 2020 season in Oakland if the Vegas stadium isn’t completed in time.
The next procedure for the Raiders is to present the agreement in a board meeting. Then, they must meet with the city council on playing in Oakland for another season. Once that is complete, all the NFL owners will vote on it at the league’s meetings in March.
The #Raiders and the Coliseum Authority have reached an agreement for the team to remain in Oakland for the 2019 season at least and the sides are ironing out final nuances and details of the deal, sources say. It could be wrapped up and presented to the board as early as Friday.
