Las Vegas Lights Return Home Victorious

The Las Vegas Lights FC (8-10-6,  30 Points) beat the Portland Timbers 2 (8-9-8,  32 Points) 1 to 0 in front of a loud and energetic fan base of 7,686 at Cashman Field.  The Las Vegas Lights played to the emotion of the crowd from the beginning in a very hotly contested and evenly matched game.  The 1st 40 Minutes of the game was up and down as both teams were searching for their 1st Goal, long passes, breakaways and long runs was the theme.  Then in the 45th Minute the Las Vegas Lights broke through the Timbers Defense with some very nice team chemistry.  Irvin Parra and Tabort Etaka Preston combined to find Jose Villarreal for a beautiful goal which sent the crowd into party mode.

At Halftime the Las Vegas Lights made history by hosting the Largest Balloon Fight in the World.  It was very organized for an event that had over 20,000 Water Balloons and thousands of fans on the field all at once.  It sounded like a disaster but turned out soo beautiful.  A big shout out to the Las Vegas Lights Cleanup Crew and organizational staff for their ability to keep the crowd in control and cleanup after a 5 minute all out Water Balloon Fight that was insane to watch up close.  The fans energy level only intensified as the heat was over 100% but their bodies were now cooled down.

The Portland Timbers 2 would not go home without giving their all.  The Portland Timbers 2 in the span of 1 minute hit the Goal Post 2 Times.  Thomas Olsen wearing his special TKO Jersey was able to keep the Timbers 2 off the scoreboard in the form of a Balloon (Instead of the famous Donut).

With this victory it inched the Lights closer to the 10th and final playoff spot.  They have 1 game in hand and are 3 points behind 10th place. If they can string together a few wins in a row they could be on the heels of their 1st Playoff Birth.
