Las Vegas Lights FC 3, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 0

On Mothers Day Weekend the Las Vegas Lights FC Celebrated with a dominating performance. The Las Vegas Lights had a huge advantage of possessions during the first-half (68.8%).

That enabled them to keep the pressure on the Switchbacks’ defense. In the 34′ minute Irvin Parra opened the scoring when he capitalized on a pass from Junior Sandoval. Just as the referee was going to end the half Sammy Ochoa had other thoughts when he took a pass from Mobi Fehr and placed it perfectly in the back of the net.

In the second-half the game was even as the Switchbacks tried to muster a little offense. The midfield play of the Lights just kept winning the balls and setting up a counter attacks.

The Lights continued to put the pressure on the Switchbacks’ back end. Then in the 76′ minute a penalty was awarded and Irvin Parra made the Switchbacks pay when he scored his second goal of the night to cap off the scoring.

The Las Vegas Lights will now prepare for a Tuesday Night game vs. Cal FC in the U.S. Open Cup. The Lights announced during the game that tickets would be $10.00. If you have yet to go to a game this year, I suggest you attend a game.  The atmosphere is great, the energy of the fans is very festive and the action on the field is the icing on the cake.
