The 2021 Las Vegas Bowl will have a fresh face as the Big Ten battles the Pac-12 in Sin City for the first time. The 8-4 Arizona State Sun Devils will take on the 8-4 Wisconsin Badgers, who had a chance to win the Big Ten before being upset by Minnesota in their season finale. Both teams rely heavily on their defense and Wisconsin has won 7 of its last 8. Arizona State will be without their star running back Rashaad White as he opted out and declared for the NFL Draft.

Wisconsin comes into the game as a 5.5 point favorite and the total is set at 41 according to Westgate. The Badgers have been favored in every game they played this season and finished as a bit of a disappointment since they were considered a favorite to win the Big Ten along with Ohio State back in August. QB Graham Mertz was expected to have a standout season but it turned out to be RB Braelon Allen who was the X-Factor for Wisconsin’s offense. The freshman ran for 1.109 yards and punched in twelve touchdowns for what will surely be a bright career for the young star.

The Sun Devils’ QB Jayden Daniels will have to be the one to lead Arizona State to victory since they’ll be without star running back Rashaad White. He threw for 2,221 yards and 10 TDs along with 9 INTs en route to an 8-4 season with only one win against a bowl-eligible team, that being UCLA. It’ll be a tall order as Wisconsin’s defense has smothered opponents all season long, ranking as the best total defense in the country. They also boast the sixteenth best rushing attack to boot. Herm Edwards lost his only Las Vegas Bowl appearance in 2018 and this will be an even tougher challenge under the big stage and long-awaited move for this bowl game to Allegiant Stadium.

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers -5.5 and OVER 41
