Las Vegas, NV- Despite coming off a tough home loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Gerard Gallant and his Vegas Golden Knights charges went through a surprisingly spirited and high-energy practice on the ice at City National Arena on Friday morning.

The reason for this was that Friday was definitely a special one, as prior to taking the ice for Friday’s practice session, the team actually signed two young hockey players from just outside of Edmonton, Alberta to special one-day contracts. As part of a special made possible through collaboration between the club and the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Knights General Manager George McPhee was able to ink a pair of young prospects, signing eight year-old Jace and Jay, who signed contracts in a special ceremony with the club and then suited up for practice. Each one of the youngsters have unfortunately been diagnosed with terminal illnesses, but the Golden Knights have been a special part in their lives in helping to inspire and motivate them to live life fearlessly, and to the fullest. Each youngster brought that with them to the arena in spades on Friday, as they still enthusiastically took part in the latter part of practice, including each being active participants in an impromptu penalty shootouts at the conclusion of the session.

Don’t forget, the Knights are back in action on Saturday, as they take the ice at T-Mobile arena looking to neutralize the Nashville Predators at 7:00 pm PST.
