“Everyone tell a friend, bring a friend on Sunday. We got this!” -Keri Laimbeer
On Tuesday, Keri Laimbeer challenged all fans to be present and loud when the Aces take on the Washington Mystics for (game 3) on Sunday. On a social media post, Laimbeer asked, “If this game doesn’t fire up our fans and the city of Las Vegas, I don’t know what will?” She was referring to (game 1) of the semifinals vs Washington when the Aces nearly stole (game 1) on the road. “The House” is where the Aces play at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, often frequented by celebrities and athletes like LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Raiders owner Mark Davis. Having superstars in attendance at games is a bonus for the casual fan, but for super-fans like Phil Cory founder of AcesFans.com, all he needs is a pro basketball team, an arena, and diehard fans that are equally passionate about his team.
I reached out to Phil Cory and he said, “there was a small handful of us fans last year that began talking about finding a way to get together to watch the Aces away games. We found that we all had a common bond in this incredible WNBA team, but that we never really get a chance to get to know one another because we all sit in different sections and are fully engaged in the game when we are attending.”

“So a watch party was in the works. Fast forward to the beginning of season two and no one had put anything together, yet we still wanted to do it. So I began putting the first watch party together back on May 31 for our first away game this year. And it was an instant hit with all the fans in our Facebook Fan Group.”
“We immediately started trying to do them for every possible away game thereafter. Some logistics held us back from doing a few of them, like TV contracts, or the time/day of game. But overall we were able to produce eight watch parties this season for the fans. And tonight is our ninth,” Phil told Vegas Sports Daily. In addition to the away game watch parties, our group was able to put together two road trips to away game.
The first one we had a small handful of folks make their way over to Los Angeles, California to watch the Aces battle the Sparks. And then most recently we had a (group of 100 people) head down to Phoenix for the last regular-season game against the Mercury. In our most recent watch parties, the Aces have teamed up with our Fan Group to enhance our gatherings. They are now bringing in several cool elements like Bucket$ the mascot, our Wild Card Crew, and several raffle giveaways.
Tonight’s Fan Watch Party will be an opportunity for all fans who are local to get together to bring our Aces to victory against Washington in game 2 of the Semifinals. Aces fans, will you accept Keri Laimbeer’s challenge? Tell a friend, bring a friend, because the Aces’ front office invested a lot to put together a great product on the floor.
