Jalen Brunson continues to shine as the Dallas Mavericks lose to the San Antonio Spurs. The two teams played a very controlled first half combining for 8 combined turnovers. Things would change for both teams in the second half ending 112 – 105 in favor of the Spurs.

Midway through the third quarter, both teams flipped the script. The Mavericks recovered from their anemic rebounding and the Spurs continued their hot shooting. In Spursian fashion, San Antonio went 18-18 from the free throw line. It’s the third time they’ve been perfect from the stripe this season.
The Spurs played team ball all night long. Three of their starters finished with 20 or more points with DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge combined for 61. The team also tallied 26 assists on the night
Luka looked hesitant in his first game back from hearing his knee pop. The tweal may have hampered Luka more than expected. He finished the game with 12 points on 5 of 18 shooting, his lowest scoring output since January 19th. To damper Mavericks fans mood more he only converted 1 of his nine freebies. Yet he was a driving force in the Mavericks comeback attempt.
As Luka struggled another rookie lead the Mavs in scoring. Brunson scored a career-high 34 points on ridiculous efficiency. He shot 75% from the field, 50% from three, and 100% from the line. He also passed the ball to the tune of 4 assists and 1 turnover.
The Mavericks continue their post all star break losing streak. Their six loss is the highest active losing streak in the league. My has the road to Zion never looked so clear.
