Vegas-The Dallas Wings decided that they were going to trade Liz Cambage to the Las Vegas Aces for Moriah Jefferson, Isabelle Harrison, and a draft pick Monday afternoon.
The deal is still ongoing, but if Cambage’s deal can go through smoothly, the team have picked up an ace themselves and it could put Vegas in the position of making some noise in the postseason. Last season, the Aces struggled to find their identity and could not piece together wins throughout their season. They finished the season 14-20 and have been desperately looking for answers to solve their inconsistency.
Cambage is a player that can create her own shot, have phenomenal footwork, and is a force in the paint. She defends very well and makes it tough for opponents to get around her to score easy buckets. Last season Cambage averaged around 23 points and had 9.7 rebounds a game, which would help the Aces out on the offensive end, but they need to crack down on turning the ball over.
If this trade goes through, it would be huge for a struggling organization that is looking to get back to their winning ways. The Aces have not made a playoff appearance since 2008.
