Golden Knights vs Predators: Odds and Prediction

One of the hottest teams in the Western Conference visits T-Mobile Arena as the Nashville Predators face the Vegas Golden Knights for the first time since a 5-2 defeat in Nashville just before Thanksgiving. Juuse Saros has been one of the best goaltenders in the league boasting a 2.24 GAA and .925 save percentage. The Predators went on a seven game winning streak before the Christmas break but have lost two of their last three games since then. Filip Forsberg ranks in the top-15 in goals scored this season with fifteen and Nashville is the healthiest they’ve been all season, kicking off their west coast road trip in Las Vegas.

When Vegas beat Nashville in November, they did it with Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, and Robin Leihner in the lineup. They’ll likely be without all of those players this time and they hold a 1-6 record against opponents scoring more than 5 goals in their previous game. Vegas is in the midst of an eight-game homestand and picked up a crucial point in overtime against Winnipeg, a game that seemed to be heading to a regulation loss. Pete DeBoer will likely continue tinkering with lineups as Vegas deals with injury issues that have been seeming to plague the team all season long.

The team has still found a way to win games despite injury and COVID issues but it shouldn’t come as a shock if the Golden Knights can’t win some of these tough games at home. Nashville will be looking to pick up a huge win to start their road trip and it’ll be exciting to see if Laurent Brossoit can continue to surpass expectations in Vegas in a matchup against one of the toughest goalie in the league.

Pick: Predators (+120) and UNDER 5.5
