“Friday Night Showcase” Set for Utah, Western’s Dailey Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week

The Las Vegas Raiders this week named Jesse Dailey from Western High School after his team defeated Pinecrest Academy Cadence 26-7 in the third week of the season. Western was led by quarterback Roberto Vargas, who threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more.

Named after two-time Raiders Super Bowl winning Head Coach and recently enshrined Pro Football Hall of Famer Tom Flores, the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Week Program is designed to recognize high school football coaches who continuously demonstrate hard work and dedication to their football programs by creating successful teams and players both on and off the field.

Each week during the high school football season, the Raiders will present a Coach of the Week recipient in Las Vegas with a $1,000 donation from the Raiders Foundation to the school’s football program. At the conclusion of the season, a coach will be named the Tom Flores High School Coach of the Year and will be the Raiders’ nominee for the Don Shula Coach of the Year award.

Silverado High Head Football Coach Andy Ostolaza was honored as the 2021 Tom Flores High School Coach of the Year. Las Vegas High Flag Football Coach Jon Hicks was named Coach of the Year, Liberty High Coach Rich Muraco was named Coach of the Year in 2019, while Canyon Springs High Coach Gus McNair received the honor in 2018.

A Raiders player or Alumnus will present Coach Dailey with the Tom Flores Coach of the Week award during a presentation at the school in front of the team prior to practice on September 14.
