Raiders running back Devontae Booker joins the Memorial Day edition of our CBS Sports Sports Radio 1140 show and we also explore with author Michael Weinreb the greatness of LA Raiders RB Bo Jackson.
New Las Vegas Raiders running back Devontae Booker joins the show to discuss his reasons for signing with Las Vegas and why he will make the most of the opportunity.
The underutilized Devontae Booker left the Broncos to come to Las Vegas and thinks he can contribute right away behind rookie sensation Josh Jacobs. A similar back to Jacobs, Booker talks about why he chose to sing with Las Vegas and why he thinks the rest of the league is sleeping on the Raiders in 2020.
PLUS: Author Michael Weinreb talks with the guys about the greatness that was the Raiders Bo Jackson. Is Bo Jackson the greatest pure professional athlete of the modern era? We’ll debate that despite Jackson’s short NFL and MLB careers.
Weinreb’s critically-acclaimed book Bigger Than the Game: Bo, Boz, the Punky QB, and How the ’80s Created the Modern Athlete explored in-depth the marvel that Jackson was as an all-around athlete. From an early age, the Raiders Jackson dominated every sport he played – baseball, football, track and more – and helped Nike (even before Jordan did) explode as an international brand.
We also discuss the NFL’s return to team facilities this week and if there will be spectators in the stands come the regular season.
Special guest co-host Your Boy Q is along for the ride.
