The Las Vegas Raiders have traded a 2022 sixth round pick to the Carolina Panthers for linebacker Denzel Perryman and a seventh round pick next year, according a report from Adam Schefter. The deal is pending a physical.
Denzel Perryman was signed as free agent by the Panthers, but wasn’t able to crack the starting lineup. He had previously played for the Chargers for the past six seasons, so he has a lot of familiarity with the AFC West Division. He also has familiarity with new Raiders defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who was the Chargers defensive coordinator last season.
Denzel Perryman to provide linebacker depth
Denzel Perryman comes to a Raiders team that just lost Nicholas Morrow to a foot injury. Head coach Jon Gruden has said Morrow will be out “for some time.” Javin White is also injured for the Raiders.
In 2020, Denzel Perryman played 13 games, where he recorded 47 tackles with one sack and one pass defended. In his career, Denzel Perryman has 326 tackles with five sacks and three interceptions.
